The Development of Untapped SHP Potential in Selected African Countries Project has gone smoothly
Development of Untapped SHP Potential in Selected African Countries Project, as a Small Grants Program, is executed by UN Global South-South Development Center and implemented by International Center on Small Hydro Power. Since its establishment in November 2017, the project has yielded rich fruits.
A technical team, consisted of 4 experts, provided the on-site technical support and training for Ghanaian engineers. The experts also investigated 8 potential SHP sites for the further development.
ICSHP received a delegation from Federal Ministry of Science and Technology of Nigeria. The 7-member delegation was headed by Mr. Gummi Abbas, Director of the Department of Renewable and Conventional Energy. Seminar on International SHP Cooperation and Technical Exchange for Belt & Road Countries was held in Hangzhou. 25 representatives from Albania, Poland, Macedonia, Ukraine, Montenegro, Pakistan, Mongolia, Kenya, Sudan, South Sudan and about 40 Chinese representatives from INSHP bases, INSHP member enterprises, SHP authorities, universities, SHP equipment manufactories participated the seminar.
