UNIDO Round Table on Development of Silk Road Economic Belt Held in Urumqi
2 September 2014, Urumqi — Co-sponsored by CICETE and United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), UNIDO Round Table Forum on Development of Silk Road Economic Belt was held at the 4th China-Eurasia Expo in Urumqi on September 2, 2014. The theme of the forum was the Development of the Silk Road Economic Belt: Urbanization, Industrial Civilization, and a Better Life for All.
CICETE Director General Yao Shenhong delivered the speech at the forum. Some 120 participants from UNIDO, Asia Development Bank, and related government and organizations in Uzbekistan, Tadzhikistan, Turkey, Mongolia and China gathered in the forum to discuss issues on the development of green industry in the countries of silk-road economic belt.
By the end of the forum, Yao Shenhong and Edward Clarence-Smith,UNIDO Representative in China issued plaques of Green Industry Demonstration District to Xuyu New District of Lianyungang City and Urumqi Economic and Technical Development Zone.
