By the end of 2007, a total of 2,000 overseas Chinese experts and 3,000 foreign experts have been invited to come to China for providing training and consultancy services under the programs of “Overseas Chinese Returning to Pass on Technical Skills” and “Advanced Technical Consultant Recruiting”. Through bilateral German CIM program CICETE has introduced in to China over 300 German senior experts since 1985. Their working fields involve urban planning, industrial technology, environmental planning, financial reform, social development, education training and enterprise management. From 1981 to date, 220 UN volunteers fielded to serve in China, while 160 Chinese volunteers dispatched abroad to serve in 37 developing countries. CICETE also co-sponsored and organized the activities of “China 2001 International Volunteers Year Committee”
